I write this post as I sit on my patio watching the beautiful light show this storm is putting on. Ironically enough, I liken the earlier part of my week to this very storm, minus the beautiful light show of course. Hence the choice of picture. Simply put, I got blatantly played for a fool by someone I thought I could trust. I’d like to quote Theophilus London by saying “They say some things are better not said, but how could you wear horns on your head?” Especially when you knew what was at stake. My shear anger over this mess has me wanting to go into much much more detail, but I’m a grown ass man so I might as well act like it and leave it at that.
I pride myself in always finding something positive in times like these and that positive is that it’s Fridee….so let’s get into the Funk. I’ll start off by sharing a track from British producers Vanguard. I know it’s a little older, but as cheesy as it might sound, I’m finding a lot of relevance in it right now in light of recent events…..
Vanguard – Loving Someone Else (Original Mix)
White Pants Dancing Treats:
J Paul Getto – You Make Me Happy (Original Mix)
^
Monkey Safari – Fat Papa (Country Club Remix)
Thomas Banghalter – Colossus (The Phantom’s Revenge’s Bootleg Or Whatever You Call Those Kinds Of Things)
Worthy – Miami BBQ (Original Mix)
^This kind gentleman decided to give away a free EP in celebration of his B-Day. This version was my fav.
Punks Jump Up feat Chromeo’s Dave1 – Mr. Overtime (Gigamesh Remix)
If you haven’t caught on to The Magician’s Magic Tape series yet, I recommend changing that immediatly. Each one lives up to it’s name by inspiring pure Sex Magic and this is the latest installment of which he dropped earlier this week. I find it slightly frustrating that he never provides a track list, but I think that’s part of what makes each one so very magical.
The Magician – Magic Tape Twenty-Two
Theophilus London dropped Timez Are Weird These Days The Remixes, also earlier this week. It features some solid contributions from Brodinski and The Bloody Beetroots among others:
Theophilus London – Last Name London (Brodinski Remix)
Theophilus London – Why Even Try (feat. Sara Quin) [Bloody Beetroots Remix)
^A much more tame and funky styling from the Beetroots which works wonderfully. This also hits home right now for me.
Theophilus London – Stop It (Crookers Remix)
BONUS BEATS:
Javeon McCarthy – Lost Time (T. Williams Remix)
Destructo feat. OLIVER – LA Funky (BS1 Remix)
I’ll conclude by reminding everyone once again that the 6 month Anniversary Edition of TheHundred is going down this Saturday at Beauty Bar. Bit Funk is making his first appearance in Denver and Roger That, myself, Jinro and option4 are gonna set it off as proper as as proper can be. Thanks for listening friends. Cheers.
